One Year Against Manufacturing Defects

Parts we manufacture and sell under our own name, including SRC raft frame fittings and oar towers, are warranted against manufacturing defects for one year from the date of delivery.

A manufacturing defect means something wrong with how the part was made. A crack in the forging, a bore machined out of spec, threads that were bad from the start, hardware that was wrong in the box.

If that happens, email us. We will replace the part or refund it, whichever makes more sense, and we cover the shipping.

What This Does Not Cover

  • Normal wear. Aluminum oxidizes, finishes scuff, and a frame that gets used looks like a frame that gets used
  • Damage from a wrap, a flip, a rock, or a hard landing. That is the river, not a defect
  • Over-torquing. Snug is snug. A stripped fastener or a cracked saddle from being cranked on is not a manufacturing problem
  • Installation on pipe the part was not made for. Our connectors are made for 1-1/4″ IPS schedule 40 pipe at 1.660″ outside diameter. Mounting them on something else is outside what we can stand behind
  • Modified parts. Drilled, cut, welded, or heat treated by anyone other than us
  • Corrosion from storage in salt water or storage while wet
  • Parts bought secondhand. The warranty covers the original buyer
  • Products made by other companies that we resell. Those carry their manufacturer’s warranty, and we will help you get to the right place

What We Do Not Claim

We do not publish a load rating, and we are not going to imply one. Nobody in the river frame category publishes tested load figures, us included. What we publish are the material, the dimensions, and the hardware, and we would rather state those plainly than dress up an adjective.

Our parts are sold for building raft frames. Rivers carry real risk, gear can fail, and how a frame is built, loaded, and run is up to whoever builds and runs it. We are responsible for making the part right. We cannot be responsible for how it gets used.

How to Make a Claim

Email info@diyraftframes.com with:

  • Your order number
  • A photo of the part showing the problem
  • A sentence or two about what happened

We will get back to you within 2 business days. We may ask you to send the part back so we can look at it, and if we do, we cover that shipping.

If a whole batch turns out to have a problem, we want to know about it more than you want to tell us. Say something.
